Todd Update on my previous post: Outlook 2016 continues to change the URL of the Exchange server from what I need it to be to a default of “This prevents my Outlook client from connecting properly. I write in the proper URL and Outlook overwrites it. I don’t have this problem from Outlook 2011. I have tried net new installations and imports of 2011 identities (clean or otherwise). If a company doesn’t use the default Exchange server format (due to security or other reasons), this apparently is an issue. Todd That’s what I am finding out.

Ok, it is “just” a preview and may be you shouldn’t use it for your business, but on the other hand why not give it a try. Recent previews of Microsoft solutions are rather stable. So, I tried, but the installation included some unpleasant surprises. Hard to download Office 2011 for Mac used to be a lot better than the version for the Windows users several years ago. The launch of Office 2013 meant a huge upgrade for the Windows user. One of the biggest advantages of Office 2013 is the integration with among others SharePoint and OneDrive. Working with SharePoint has been a rather painful job on a Mac.

The same is true in reverse for Microsoft, as they have thankfully moved on from the days when they regarded Office as just a tool to force people to use Windows everywhere. MSFT realised that people would just use Google Docs instead, if they didn't make Office great on iOS. Both companies will want this fixed asap. As for the thing about the app store in iTunes, obviously Apple would have real data about that. It's probably true that very few people use the app store on the desktop, otherwise they wouldn't have removed it. Personally I removed it from the iTunes menu because it was illogical to download mobile phone apps on a desktop when I don't even sync my phone with the desktop. Sure, there will no doubt be a small number of people who were still doing this, just like there were a small number of people using Dashboard widgets or DVD drives.

Part of the import process qualifies what it wants to import and whether or not it is allowed or will impact the ability to connect to the MSE server. SP2 is required to connect as you guys have documented nicely. Andrew I’m experiencing a TON of crashes. Outlook seems to crash a lot when I’m sending mails, not so much when opening and rarely/never when receiving. There’s a lot of randomness to the crashes. It’s not certain addresses, or certain sizes, no association to attachments or after sending a certain number or messages or after a certain amount of time.

• Open the account's Deleted Items folder. • For emails in and Exchange as well as (Outlook.com) email account, this folder will be called Deleted Items. • For IMAP accounts that do use a folder for deleted items, the folder may have a different name; look for folders named 'Trash', e.g., or 'Dustbin'; for Gmail accounts, the deleted items folder is [Gmail]/Trash. • Open or highlight the message you want to recover. • You can highlight more than one email to recover the whole bunch in one command.

When you add a new signature in an attempt to replace an old one, Outlook for Mac appends the new signature instead of replacing it. To replace the signature, you must delete the original signature from the e-mail message manually. Calendar Sharing Within Outlook 2011 for Mac Outlook 2011/2016 users must be granted 'Reviewer' access to another person's calendar to be able open that calendar and view details.

Outlook 2011 cannot connect to a POP/IMAP mailbox A recent security update included disabling SSLv3, and this causes connection issues between Outlook 2011 and AD Postfix servers where POP/IMAP mailboxes are hosted. The issue doesn't affect Outlook 2016. Contact Groups cannot be synced Contact groups created in Outlook 2011/2016 for Mac are stored locally and can not be synchronized with the Exchange Server.

Todd After posting, I created a new Outlook 2016 profile and tried to import the Outlook 2011 profile again. One of my two Exchange accounts triggered a pop-up that stated it was 2010 SP1 and therefore would not allow me to connect to Exchange after import (which aligns with your question). I am now exporting that old archive e-mail and will create a new Outlook 2011 profile with MSDB utility for the “good” Exchange account so that is at 2010SP2 as the only account inside it.

We recently installed Outlook 2011 for MAC after we moved a users mailbox to our new Exchange 2010 SP1 server. Outlook is able to connect to exchange and download all emails, calendar, etc. However when you send an email you receive the following message: HTTP error. The server cannot fulfill the request. Mail could not be sent. The message has been moved to your Drafts folder. Account name: 'Exchange' Error code: -18500 I can see that the email has been moved to the drafts folder.

The interesting issue is that I was able to go through this exercise at initial installation and even connect to the 2010SP2 Exchange account without issue. It downloaded and synchronized all e-mail, events, and contacts.
