Even though Microsoft Store app comes with a myriad of apps, e-books, games, movies, and TV shows that the Windows 10 users can get for free or premium basis, it is still considered extremely annoying by many of the users. Windows 10 comes with many pre-installed applications. Microsoft Store app, unfortunately, falls into the second category. Unfortunately, Microsoft Store app is being marketed in the same way Apple marketed U2 album. Some of these apps are extensively used by the users while others are considered a nuisance. QuickBooks Online works on your PC, Mac, tablets, and phones. 3 Is there an additional fee for the QuickBooks mobile app? QuickBooks Online mobile access is included with your QuickBooks Online subscription at no additional cost. The Mac-run business landscape is changing, dramatically. The Intuit spokesman I talked with said that two years ago, the Mac QuickBooks customer was generally in graphic design, web development.

QuickBooks from Intuit (is the industry standard for financial management. Even if you don’t use QuickBooks, your accountant probably does and you’ll find the widest range of support and services when you use QuickBooks to run your business. It is, as they say, the 800-pound gorilla you have to deal with in the financial world. When people are considering making the switch from PC to Mac, being able to transfer their QuickBooks information is a key concern. Every year, Intuit promises more compatibility with the Windows version of QuickBooks and promises to bring more of the Windows features to the Mac platform. Unfortunately, Intuit woefully under-delivers on their promise.

Intuit has streamlined the setup process so that it takes less time to create a new company file. While older versions had an elaborate setup process that took up to 15 minutes to complete, using QuickBooks 2010 I had a new company file set up in less than two minutes. There’s also a new Guide Me feature (an on/off switch in the upper right hand corner of the Home Page) that highlights and helps you learn how to use QuickBooks’ most important features. While helpful, Guide Me is only likely to be of benefit to novice users. What’s likely to be a huge benefit for many users is the addition of merchant services, which means that you’ll finally be able to accept credit card payments from within QuickBooks. This for-fee service ($20 per month, $60 setup) is now integrated into QuickBooks and allows you to accept and securely store client credit card information. Also, you can now send e-mail invoices to your customers and provide more personalized messages when you send out bulk e-mail.

I thought it worked perfectly and more efficiently. The useful Company Snapshot feature shows at a glance anything you want to know about your company, such as Income, Expenses, Trends, Account Balances, Vendor Balances and more.

Pros: The most Mac compatible version of QuickBooks to date Cons: Not reliable and inconsistent compatibility and feature parity with PC version. Rating 6 out of 10 — “Doctor Dave” Greenbaum.

You can navigate through your preferences quickly and easily. New Preferences Pane If your business needs to track time spent on individual projects, the free downloadable My Time module should be a big help. It works in conjunction with QuickBooks or as a standalone application. You choose the jobs or clients to track and it assigns that time the designated clients.

There is much to be pleased about in Intuit’s and, unfortunately, still quite a bit to be disappointed with, as well. While Intuit has made an effort to make QuickBooks easier to learn and use and have finally added the option to receive credit card payments from within the application, the program is still missing key features, and the Home Page interface introduced last year remains more of a patina than an indication of in-depth change. The good QuickBooks 2010 has been improved in several ways that make managing your business and income easier. This is especially true for users new to QuickBooks.

Now called, the service works with data from QuickBooks to provide paychecks, tax forms and related services for a fee based on the number of workers. QuickBooks 2010 for Mac also adds credit card processing from within the application, again using a service owned by Intuit. The company sells a USB-based credit card reader that lets merchants complete a sale without having to manually enter transaction data into QuickBooks.

Additionally, while it did import the raw data correctly from my PC QuickBooks 2008, it did not important my custom reports nor my custom invoices that I paid my accountant to create. In spite of the claimed “improved” compatibility with the Windows counterpart QuickBooks for the Mac failed to deliver. To be fair, Intuit claims that I should be running QuickBooks 2010 for Windows, and I would have seen more reports transfer over. On a practical level, if you already paid for QuickBooks 2010 for the PC, you are much less likely to switch to a Mac. Additionally, contact syncing with the address book simply didn’t work at all.

Like many other Mac users, I run QuickBooks on my Mac via a Windows virtual machine. Not having to boot up Windows every time I want to enter invoices would be a welcome change. All said and done, I’m still going to have to keep Windows on my Mac sigh. According to Intuit, the key “new” feature of QuickBooks 2010 (US$159.95) compared to previous versions is the ability to accept credit cards directly from within QuickBooks using Intuit’s merchant services solution. If you already do this on the PC, then the switch will be easy.

The company I manage uses Macintosh computers. When I came on board in April, I was thrown off by all the things QuickBooks for Mac 2006 would NOT do. (I've been a PC QB user for 15 years.) I assumed the problem was the old program, so I suggested to the owner we update to the 2010 version. What a mistake! After numerous calls the Intuit support, plus posting questions on the Intuit support forum, I was informed that the program lacks over 1,000 features of the PC Pro version. (Direct from Intuit support.) If you haven't dealt with Intuit support, that is a trial in itself. What I have found is that the person at the other end, in a call center in India, while good at the English language, has little practical knowledge of the functions of the programs and how small business utilizes them.

I had a lot of unanswered questions after completing the tutorial CD. I was aware I would have a learning curve to master the new program; but I feel it doesn't begin to compete with the Quicken for Windows series. I'll be the odd duck and actually give this version a good review! I use it for my business which is a financial service business (no inventory and no POS through Quickbooks) and I was already using PayCycle (now Intuit Online Payroll) so I have no payroll problems. I also use it as the Treasurer of my Rotary Club.

QuickBooks helps you manage your business easily and efficiently. Organize your finances all in one place, track money going in and out of your business, and spot areas where you can save.

The company does not have an upgrade program for users of previous versions. Credit card processing and payroll services are available at additional monthly cost.

I am sure it's out there, but should it have to be that difficult? I have downloaded my bank account and followed the directions to the T, but I keep getting an error message. Just disappointed that I spent 135 dollars, and I can't even return this to Amazon.com because I already opened the CD. I would happily change this review if I could get my money back. Maybe there is an easy explanation for the problem?

After reading the many bad reviews here on Amazon.com, I decided to buy MYOB AccountEdge instead of Quickbooks. Yes, MYOB is stable, but to me, it seemed overly complex for a small business such as mine. That being said, there were also many needless restrictions.

Your payroll right within QuickBooks using QuickBooks Payroll for Mac12 Stay organized, accurate and on top of your business. From the new Home Page to the Customer, Vendor, and Transaction Centers to the Company Snapshot, QuickBooks 2009 for Mac makes it easy to access what you need, when you need it. QuickBooks also lets you choose from over 100 standard reports to see where your business stands.

While I like the new features and the more polished interface, the inherent problems with this version of QuickBooks are still all too present. My overall impression of QuickBooks 2010 for Mac is that there are sill problems with it, such as cross-platform file compatibility, online bill payment, and, dare I say it, the coherent look, and functionality of the Windows version.

The customizable window works with drag-and-drop widgets in a drawer at the bottom, much like Dashboard widgets in Mac OS X. Your Company At A Glance Snapshot The overhauled Preferences pane now sports the Mac OS look and feel. You can navigate through your preferences quickly and easily.

(As of today, 65 to be exact.) QuickBooks for Mac is a terrible program. On Intuit's own forums, I see the same concerns and complaints that have been going on for years. The excuse is that Intuit would have to spend too much to get the Mac version closer to the PC versions. All I want is our money refunded.

System Requirements SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS • A minimum of macOS X v10.12 (Sierra) is needed. • Internet connection for downloaded installation and product updates. • Product registration required.

There is no offsite backup supported for mac with the Intuit service policy. I'm finding features available for windows are not in the Mac version.

By • 6:31 am, September 30, 2009 • Image via Intuit For years, people used to bash Macs by noting the absence of what was viewed to be an absolute essential application. Though there’s still a hold-out or two (we’re still waiting for AutoCAD for Mac, despite hints to the contrary), things are much better these days. No application, perhaps, embodies this change more than Intuit’s QuickBooks.

If you already do this on the PC, then the switch will be easy. Otherwise, you need to set up an account with Intuit, which may have higher rates then you get from your bank. Another new feature is a setup guide and wizard, but most people would probably use an accountant or bookkeeper for such things, so this feature is of limited value. The good news for QuickBooks 2010 is that it accurately talks with my credit card company to download information.

I’ve always been wary of QuickBooks updates since the famous debacle in December of 2007 where an update destroyed the desktop files of unsuspecting Mac users. If you are starting as a new business, the wizards will help get you off to a good start. New users won’t have to worry about importing from Windows and won’t encounter the transfer problems with older versions. Existing Mac or Windows QuickBooks users will find little value in upgrading to this newer version and should save their money for something else.

I then used that same trial software to export a Mac 2010 file. It worked perfectly. Would I have preferred that the Mac 2010 version converted an older Windows version automatically? Yes, but the inconvenience of installing the Windows 2010 Accountant version was small.

QuickBooks for Windows is the defacto standard when it comes to accounting software. QuickBooks for Mac, however, has always felt like an afterthought when compared to its Windows sibling. QuickBooks 2010 for Mac, the latest offering from Intuit, is full of new features, bug fixes, and some of the same shortcomings that have plagued the Macintosh version since the beginning. New and Improved Features New features in QuickBooks 2010 include the New Company Setup Assistant and the ability to process debit and credit card payments without leaving the application. Improved features include how you create and edit invoices, estimates, and purchase orders, plus a more powerful and flexible search feature. A Guide Me feature walks new users through important tasks, so that you can customize the program more easily.

For example, credits toward invoices do not show on screen as they do in windows. File size is also a concern with QB, suggested limits are not put forward and can result in a major disruption and forced purchase of $3000.00 new program, that is not supported in mac, requiring use of PC only. In my case would also mean another newer PC, (they did not understand why I would leave the PC.) I have spent more than a month trying to convert data with Intuit's help, only to be told 5 different ways to TRY to make data work, then be told to purchase new program and newer PC to stay in the program, after Data recovery told me to simply start a new company file (without historical data).

For example a Profit and Loss summary report defaults to cash, the Profit and Loss Detailed Report defaults to accrual. Not knowing this, can give you a false picture of your financials. The form editor in Quickbooks is way better than MYOB but still not very sophisticated. Even with the annoyances, for me anyway, Quickbooks Mac does the job. I bought this to help keep track of PTF funds. I am very good on computers, Macs included. This program, you would think, would be user friendly.

Intuit has unveiled with built-in credit card processing, access to the company's new payroll service and several enhancements designed to improve ease of use. As a small business owner who wants a new financial application, I am frustrated that no one offers a solid and intuitive financial application for the Mac platform. I use customized spreadsheets in Apple's Numbers application and Billable from Clickable Bliss, to invoice and every day I look for an application that merges those two and folds in credit/debit card processing and online bill pay.
