I have sent several emails from iPad Mail, hear the 'swoosh' sound, and there is no trace of them in the Sent or Sent Messages folder and no BCC copy comes through, nor do they appear in MobileMe, but I have confirmed with intended recipients and they did receive the emails. The 'saved' email disappears at first then reappears in the draft folder where it should be. From this I dedule the saved message is being put on the MobileMe/IMAP folder and not on the iPad directly, and then is immediately synced back onto the iPad.

Thanks, Phil. Woohoo, fixed it! What an odd issue, Outlook 2016 must be connecting via a different method to earlier versions of Outlook. The shared mailbox is a bog standard user account and Exchange mailbox. Its associated AD account is disabled as no-one should ever be logged on as the actual user. In turn, as is standard on disabled/shared accounts, all Exchange mailbox features are disabled (POP3, ActiveSync, MAPI, IMAP, OWA etc). This has been the same for the last 2-3 years this mailbox has existed.

Hello, I have an issue with Outlook 2016, I've got it running on a couple of user's PCs to test under our Office 365 Business Premium licencing (most of us are currently on Office 2013). We have an on-site Exchange 2010 SP3 server on the latest updates. We have an issue with shared calendars, they've been picked up from the upgrade from Outlook 2013 which is fine, they open and can be viewed but we cannot edit items in those calendars. Saving anything to them generates this error: 'Sorry, we're having trouble opening this item. This could be temporary, but if you see it again you might want to restart Outlook. You don't have permission to create an entry in this folder.
